Common conservatory problems
Conservatories fitted twenty or thirty years ago were built to a different standard, and the parts that fail tend to be the same ones each time.
- Leaks at the box gutter or where the roof meets the house wall
- Failed seals letting water track down the inside of the frames
- Misted or cracked double-glazed units
- Polycarbonate roof panels that have slipped, discoloured or gone brittle
- Doors that drag, stick or no longer lock properly
- A room that is unusable in hot or cold weather
Conservatory roof replacement
Replacing a tired polycarbonate roof is usually the single biggest improvement you can make to an older conservatory. Modern glazed roof options cut glare and heat loss, and a solid or part-solid roof turns the space into something closer to a normal room.
We check the existing frames, base and wall plate before quoting so you know whether the structure can carry a new roof or whether other work is needed first.
Repairs and improvements
Not every job needs a new roof. We re-seal joints, renew flashings, clear and re-lay box gutters, replace misted glazing units and sort out door and window gear that has worn out.
New conservatories
If you are adding a conservatory, we talk through size, glazing, doors and how the room will actually be used before any work starts, then quote in writing. Groundwork, base, frames, roof and finishing are all handled by us.
